DIY of the Week!

I love this for fall weddings - so many places it could work! I am picturing these as stand-alone cocktail table centerpieces, or in a row on a long table - or maybe lining a walkway.  Either way, how cute and easy are these?

DIY of the Week!

The project for this week comes to us from one of our favorite, Ruffled Blog. These yarn balls are so neat - I picture them in bright colors hanging from trees for an outdoor wedding!

Instructions:
1. Inflate the balloon to a medium size so the shape is a little rounder.
2. If you’re looking to make a lampshade out of the string chandelier, use a sharpie to mark around the knot on the balloon.
3. Before you start working, we recommend using a tarp.Mix corn starch, glue and warm water together until it has a smooth texture.
5. Smear the vaseline all over your balloon until it is completely coated so th twine wet with glue won’t stick on the balloon after dry.
6. You can start a little assembly line with friends by one of you feeding the yarn through the glue mix and giving to another person to wrap it around the balloon.
7. Start wrapping the balloon vertically, slowly changing to wrapping. For a seamless look, tuck the ends of the twine under one of the wrapped strings.
8. Wait 24 hours until the balloon has completely dried before popping the balloon.
9. Spray the string chandeliers with clear fast drying spray paint et voila!

Best From Bridal Fashion Week

Yes, that time of year is upon us yet again.  Bridal Fashion Week, the time of year where all the heavy hitters unveil their new lines.

Here are some of our favorites:

Our personal favorite, by Monique Lhullier.

Always a little edgier than most, Ms. Vera Wang had a great time playing with color:

What did you think of Bridal Fashion Week?  Overall, nothing too cutting edge, but lots to drool over, as usual!

Church Street Bridal

Before you say "long time, no post" I know, I know.  Wedding season came and suddenly spare time became completely non existant.

BUT, over the course of that time, I stumbled upon a fantastic site - Church Street Bridal.

Church Street Bridal is an organization based out of Lynchburg, VA.  All purchases there support the YWCA, an organization that truly supports women.

Basically, big bridal stores, including Kleinfeld, donate dresses, veils, shoes, etc. to CSB, and they sell them at RIDICULOUS prices to you - we are talking $15,000 dresses for $400.

Here are some of my favorites.

How about this pretty by Herve Lager?

Retail price? A mere $3,600.
CSB price? $400

Or this $8,300 Delicia can be yours for $650.

Lanvin

Retail: $15,400
CSB: $600

In additional to all the dresses, CSB also sells veils, shoes, headpieces, and other formal gowns.

These dresses are samples, so normal wear and tear is to be expected.  They are really great at mentioning any damages, and they are as upfront as possible.  You can visit them in person, or call and order over the phone.  They feature one dress per day on their blog,

Inspiration Pic of the Day

The inspiration pic for today comes from 100 Layer Cake, which is always an resource of ours for lots of reasons - their fantastic inspiration boards, vendor reviews, and of course, pretty pictures.

As a planner, I see a lot of cakes - some beautiful and show stopping, and some whimsical and trendy.  Honestly, I love them all.  I love when the cake has meaning to the bride and groom, whether they have incorporated their color scheme or sentimental cake topper.  They are all special in their own way.

This cake caught my eye because of it's elegance and simplicity.  I see so many detailed cakes that when a bride and groom opt for something so simple, it makes an impact in my eyes.  I see this cake at a winter wedding, with lots of white and crystals.  What do you think?

Inspiration Pic of the Day

Here at EBL, we are starting something new - a daily inspiration picture! These pictures are usually found on any of the various blogs and websites we follow, or from a magazine or article.  These pictures can be anything from fantastic shoes to beautiful flowers - we save them in our STYLE FILE, and hopefully get to bust them out eventually!

Today's picture is brought to you by the talented folks over at Style Me Pretty - it is a blistering 98 degrees here in Missouri today, and there are lots of outside weddings this weekend, and lots of nice and toasty guests.

Here is a great way to keep your guests cool and incorporate a little bit of your colors at the same time!

Here is the link where we found the picture: Check it out! Thanks Style Me Pretty for always being a great source of inspiration for all of us!

Events By Lindsay Real Wedding: Keila and Tanner

This past weekend, Events by Lindsay threw the most fantastic wedding ever for Keila and Tanner.  Keila and I had been working together for almost a year, and although she was crazy busy, she was easily the most creative and talented bride we have worked with. It is amazing working with someone who has such an eye for detail - and her mom was absolutely fantastic.  They were such a joy to work with, and I can't believe their wedding was over.

Some of their teaser pictures have been posted by the always fabulous Avia Photography! There will be more pictures posted soon, along with a recap!
